Readybot requires your X (formerly Twitter) authentication token to access X feeds. A valid token can be extracted from browser cookies by following these instructions.
Sign in to X
Sign in to your X account at X.com.
Open the Developer Tools
In the X.com tab, press F12 to open the browser developer tools.
Copy the authentication cookie
Google Chrome
To find the authentication token value in Google Chrome, follow these steps:
- In the developer tools tab bar, open the "Application" tab.
- In the developer tools sidebar, open the "Cookies" section.
- In the list of cookies, find the
"auth_token"
cookie. - Double-click the "Value" of the
"auth_token"
row, and press CTRL/CMD + C to copy the value.
Mozilla Firefox
To find the authentication token value in Mozilla Firefox, follow these steps:
- In the developer tools tab bar, open the "Storage" tab.
- In the developer tools sidebar, open the "Cookies" section.
- In the list of cookies, find the
"auth_token"
cookie. - Double-click the "Value" of the
"auth_token"
row, and press CTRL/CMD + C to copy the value.
Authentication validity
To help make sure that the authentication token remains valid:
- Do not log out from the X.com tab.
- Verify the email address and phone number on your X account.
- Enable two-factor authentication on your X account.

What does Readybot do with my authentication token?
A signed in X.com user account is required to update feeds. Readybot stores your token securely and uses it to access X on your behalf. Readybot will only make requests to read user profiles and tweets from users configured in the Feed Bot.
Is it secure to share my authentication token?
Readybot.io will never share your token with other parties. You may also create a new X.com user account for this purpose.
